Blogging: New Internet Marketing Tool?

Blogging is taken out of the term “weblog”, which is one of the most common activities on the internet – whether for money making purposes or hobby. There are various free blogging platforms that enable you to create your own account and write about topics or niches of your interest. The ability to freely express your own views, share information, or promote through this platform is one reason why many enjoy doing it.

But have you ever considered that blogging could also make you money? Yes, you heard it right. Although the concept of a blog has existed for a long time now, it wasn’t until recently that it was considered as an internet marketing tool.

If you are not sure whether this method for internet marketing will reap results, here are some basic reasons why you should re-consider your decision:

  • Blogging is the most basic way to publish your content on the internet. Once you have posted your blog post, it is accessible to anyone on the internet within a click of a mouse. Thus, you are not just limited to your immediate area but is capable of spreading the content of your blog to anyone with an internet access.
  • Blogs are about real people and are read by real people. Hence, if you intend to use it as an internet marketing tool, it is much easier to establish a personal relationship with your intended reader. Most blogs are written based on first-hand experience, thus they are more likely to trust what the blogger has to say and take their word for it.
  • Blogging helps to build your online reputation and establish credibility. The blogosphere, as the blogging community is often referred, is an intimate environment such that it is easier for you to get to know someone and interact with them. If done successfully, the people who read your blogs will rely on you to provide the information they need to know.
  • It helps you identify your target market. Depending on the average readers that visit your site, you can now make an assessment on how to cater your future blogs that will get more of the people within the same target market to become involved. This is really important if you are using your blog to promote certain products or direct them to affiliate merchants.
  • Finally, blogging is convenient. Your readers no longer have to step out of their house in order to avail of the information you can provide. Thus, you have to constantly update your site to earn repeat visitors.

All You Need to Know About Blog Hosts

Blogging has become more and more popular these days. Today, a blog is not just a personal space where you can share your thoughts or update your friends about what is happening in your life. Blogs are now used to earn money either by promoting products or services or by just driving visitors to your site.  Before you could have that personal space or earn money online, though, you have to select the right blog hosting website.

If you have never done blogging before, selecting a blog hosting website can be a daunting task. There should be things you need to consider when selecting a blog site as there are many blog hosting providers, each offer different features. And although there are free blog hosting websites, it is important to take note that such hosting providers also have some drawbacks. Some of them might also require some technical knowledge. While free hosting websites are a practical choice for those who want to start earning money from blogging but have tight budget, it is still more practical to determine first what blogging platform you want to use and how much space you need for your blog.

If you want to earn money from your blogs, you most likely need to expand later; and if you haven’t figured out what niche is best for you, then you might need to change your domain name later. And since blogging can be a trial and error venture, it is best to choose a blog host that:

  • allows you to expand your blog or that offers sufficient amount of space to accommodate your content;
  • allows you to change your domain name or purchase domain names and allows you to host your domain names on the same account;
  • allows you to use the blog platform you want to use;
  • accepts or takes WordPress;
  • has user friendly interface that allows beginners to manage it even with little technical knowledge;
  • and offers technical support service in case you need technical help.

Another important thing to consider when selecting for a blog host is the cost of the package. Although there are many good benefits to buying expensive hosting packages, it is still practical to choose an affordable plan that suits your budget. Most especially if you are on a tight budget, this is extremely important because it usually takes months or years before you can start earning from blogging.  Most importantly, remember that not all paid blog hosts can help you provide your needs. Some even charge a huge amount of money but the services they offer do not really compensate the money you invested.
